About United Stages

United Stages was created to provide New York small-venue performance companies their very own professional-quality show program. In recent years the popularity of United Stages playbill has grown and is now used in theaters across the country.

United Stages offers built-in marketing with its performance calendar, linked visibility to our popular website, published articles and reviews, and thoughtful layout that spotlights and honors the shows' creators, producers, cast, crew, angels, granters and donors.

In keeping with our mission to help increase the prestige of artists working in small-venue, we publish the best original scripts from the current theater scene.

The Founders

The founders, Ian Marshall and Jonathan Reuning, are Off-Off Broadway veterans with over three decades of experience in theater and business. United Stages has evolved from a playbill service for a few friends into a grassroots effort by independent artists to bring higher visibility to their work. Today over one hundred and forty production companies use a common playbill. These artists hold firmly to their individuality and independence while working together to create a recognizable professional standard for quality live performance.

United Stages is grateful for the generous support of the Off-Off-Broadway, Indie and small-venue community. Special thanks to Paul Adams; Shay Gines, Nick Micozzi, Jason Bowcutt and the New York Innovative Theatre Awards; Doric Wilson; Robert Patrick; ARTNY; Stephanie Barton-Farcas; Martin and Rochelle Denton and The New York Theater Experience; Rachel Reiner; Erez Ziv and Horse Trade; The Drama Book Shop; Barnes & Noble; and the great pioneering small-venue companies across the country that keep live performance relevant and irreplaceable.
